October 13th will be our next Story of God Sunday, where we will look at the beauty of the biblical narrative through an artist’s creative work. We’ll walk through the themes of Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration together that day.
It’ll also be Family Worship Weekend at Redemption Peoria, which is for children age 5 and older to join us as we worship the Lord together. Redemption Kids will be available for children 5 and under, if needed.
Life is better together, and there is something inherently powerful about things done in community. We have been designed to be together by God, and there is a unique and distinct togetherness that is the hallmark of a Christian community. Our fellowship together is intended to mirror the triune God. As God’s people gather together, we share experiences that knit our hearts together, and through them we begin a history with one another.
Worshiping together corporately is one way that we create a common history as the people of God, and Sunday the 13th we will be joined by some of the youngest in our church body. This gives us an opportunity to train our children to value this shared history of the church, both as members of our immediate families and the family of God.
Our prayer is that the songs we sing, scriptures we read, the Word that’s preached, and proclaiming the Lord’s death through communion will form and shape us to be more like Jesus. And we pray that our kids will see that evidenced clearly when we gather.
