Redemption Peoria | Liturgy Recap & Sermon audio

Call to Worship
Good morning!  We’re glad you’re here to gather with us.
When we gather together as a church, we gather in the presence of God and each other to worship TOGETHER. The Bible teaches us that we worship in spirit and truth in whatever we do and that God’s presence is always with us, yet we also know that there is something special about God’s people gathering to praise His holy name.  This gathering is more than just a weekly fix — we’re gathering TOGETHER to receive and proclaim the Gospel and to encourage each other in the faith!  Hear the Word of the Lord:

Because of your unfailing love, we can enter your house;
We will worship at your Temple with deepest awe.
Lead us in the right path, O Lord, or our enemies will conquer us.
Make your way plain for us to follow.
Let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them sing joyful praises forever.
Spread your protection over us,
that all who love your name be filled with joy.
For you bless the godly, O Lord;
you surround them with your shield of love.

– adapted to plural from Psalm 5:7-8, 11-12 [NLT]

Confession / Lament
“In the midst of suffering, He will help you sing.”  That lyric reminds us that God is not far away.  But how often do we remember that — when we need something, when we’re up against a wall, when we’re overwhelmed with doubt?  Take a moment to be silent before the Lord, remembering that He’s in the stillness.  If He’s not here, then this is all pointless.

You are here.
We’ve quieted ourselves, that we may know more deeply.
You are here.
We don’t have to ask for your presence.
You are here.
We don’t have to earn your presence.
You are here.

Help us to find the quiet spaces within ourselves.
You are here.
Help us to see more widely and farther.
You are here.
Help us to become more aligned with your nature.
You are here.

With compassion, kindness, peace, and love
You are here.

We breathe in.
You are here.
We breathe out.
You are here.

Assurance of Grace / Passing of Peace
In Christ, we’ve receive grace upon grace, and one of his most gracious gifts is that of community — with God and with the body of Christ, his Church.  Let’s celebrate God’s bringing us together and welcome one another now.

I Stand Amazed [How Marvelous]

Friends, we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God.  And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ.  He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.  Brothers and sisters, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.

Go now in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!
Peace be with you!
And also with you!
